Heather Matarazzo is an American actress known for her roles as Dawn Wiener in the acclaimed film Welcome to the Dollhouse (1995), Lilly Moscovitz in The Princess Diaries (2001) and its sequel, and as Martha in Scream 3 (2000). Born on November 10, 1982, in Oyster Bay, New York, she was adopted by a Catholic Italian-American family but is biologically of Irish descent. Matarazzo began acting at age six and has had a prolific career in film and television, including Hostel: Part II (2007) and a more recent role in the 2022 Netflix series Wednesday.
Her breakout role was as the awkward and misunderstood Dawn Wiener in Welcome to the Dollhouse (1995), for which she won an Independent Spirit Award. She also played Lilly Moscovitz in The Princess Diaries (2001) and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004), and Martha in Scream 3 (2000).
Matarazzo has appeared in various TV shows, including “Roseanne” and has had recurring roles on series such as “The L Word” and “Exes & Ohs”:. Most recently, she played Judi Stonehearst in the second season of the Netflix series “Wednesday”.
