John K. Addis

APPEARING SUNDAY ONLY
John K. Addis is a writer and marketing professional from Lansing, Michigan. When he’s not promoting the products and causes of his clients, he’s crafting suspenseful supernatural tales inspired by Michigan’s people and history. His debut novel, The Eaton, set in Eaton Rapids, became an Amazon and Audible bestseller. His latest release, The Paper, is a coming-of-age story drawn from real events in 1988, following two seventh graders as they launch an independent newspaper in New Haven, Michigan.
Addis’ work has earned numerous literary accolades, including a First Place award from The BookFest, two Readers’ Favorite Awards, and recognition as an Independent Author Network Book of the Year Finalist. In addition, his expertise in design has been honored with multiple Gold and Platinum MarCom and Addy Awards for outstanding cover artwork and advertising materials. At Kalamazoo Comic-Con, Addis will share his journey as an indie author and provide actionable insights in his presentation, Publishing in the 21st Century—a must-attend for aspiring storytellers looking to navigate the modern publishing landscape.
Beyond writing, Addis has composed music for small ensembles, created a daily comic strip for his college newspaper, and written and directed the micro-budget miniseries The Bells of Beaumont Tower. He believes in the power of every creative voice, the importance of uplifting new talent, and helping others discover their most authentic artistic selves.
