By day, Julie Rathsack is a business insights manager, but by night, she’s a history-loving ghost hunter. Her passion began in childhood, growing up in a haunted house where she heard—and sometimes saw—spirits. Julie co-authored Ghosts of Grand Rapids in 2013, followed by A Haunted History of Grand Rapids in 2024, and The Ghostly Tales of Grand Rapids in 2025, written for younger readers. Known as the Paranormal Historian, she leads haunted tours across Michigan and runs Lifted Veil Paranormal Investigations. Julie also serves as vice president and research director for the West Michigan Ghost Hunters Society, continuing her decades-long mission to uncover and preserve Grand Rapids’ supernatural history.
