My name is Luis Colindres and I’m an illustrator based in Chicago, IL. I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustation. I was born in the city of Chicago as well and raised by my parents who immigrated from Guatemala. Creativity has been in my family for generations but I am the first to pursue the arts professionally! My style focuses on fluid line work, psychedelic patterns, and vibrant colors. Themes that I usually explore range from horrific, original monstrous creations, and adding twists to pop culture works. I find most of my inspiration from my travels around the country, my love for horror films, and my experiences attending concerts and music festivals.
Most of my professional work is seen in the electronic dance music community. My most notable work are all the illustrations I’ve done for DJ/producer REZZ, who is not only one of the top female DJs around but over the years since we’ve worked together has become a headlining act and a Juno nominated artist. I have also created live visuals, music videos, tour posters, and other marketing assets for both up-and-coming and well-known musicians using my illustrative style. I have created two books in relation to the music community, one is a collaborative comic book based on REZZ’s persona, and the other is a coloring book inspired by the EDM culture. Both books collectively have been featured on Billboard Dance, MixMag Media, EDM.com, and the Chicago Tribune.
