My name is Luis Colindres and I’m an illustrator and animator based out of Chicago. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from Columbia College Chicago and have been working as a freelance illustrator. I mainly work on music-related projects doing animations, cover art, tour posters, and other marketing assets for both up-and-coming and established musicians. I also enjoy touring the Midwest vending at various comic conventions and the occasional music festival. I’m also a muralist who has done live-painting events and have created murals with other fellow artists for clients like General Electric, Technexus, and Hotel Chicago West Loop.
My work revolves around fluid linework, psychedelic patterns, and vibrant colors. I also enjoy finding new ways to incorporate my art into various mediums like enamel pins, stickers, handcrafted keychains, books, etc. One of my more prominent techniques is creating anaglyph 3D art prints. At all the vending events I go to, I always have my 3D prints available which come with their own pair of 3D glasses. A lot of my inspiration comes from attending music festivals, science fiction films, and I occasionally dabble with grotesque and horror themes.
