Charles, Stephen and Edward Chiodo have spent over three decades establishing themselves as a highly creative independent production company with expertise in live action puppetry, stop-motion animation, prosthetics, make-up effects, special effects and production. Their goal – “bring fantastic characters to life.”
Their dream started on Long Island, when the trio began filming a variety of amazing home movies. Through the years, Charles sharpened his artistic skills at the Pratt Institute and WABC-TV in New York; Stephen honed his animation and directorial talents at Rochester Institute of Technology, winning the Young Director’s Cup at the 1976 Cannes Film Festival; and Edward studied the art and business of film at Hofstra University. Shortly thereafter, the brothers combined their talents to create a number of creatures and images that have proven there is no limit to their imagination.
The Chiodo Bros.’ magic can be seen in their own productions, the cult classic, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, The Amazing Live Sea-Monkeys and other projects such as the Steve Carrel movie, Dinner for Schmucks, The Pee-wee Herman Show on Broadway, Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s Team America: World Police, Adam Rifkin’s Wadzilla, Spike Lee’s Tales from the Hood, Good Burger, Elf with Will Ferrell, Screamers, Turbo: A Power Ranger Movie, Ernest Scared Stupid, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, Apt Pupil, Darkman, Robocop, Gremlins, Sword and the Sorcerer, and Critters 1,2,3 & 4. and Trail of the Screaming Forehead.
