CANDI MILO began performing at the age of three with her father, on stage at the San Francisco’s Shriner’s Club. They danced and sang to Me and My Shadow…and CANDI was hooked. Her first professional job was as a singer for MARRIOTT’S GREAT AMERICA in 1977 as a performer in the Grand Music Hall in the show BROADWAY. From there she performed for Disneyworld as an All-American College Player ands then returned the following summer to star in their show, A COUNTRY JUBILEE. From there, CANDI was spotted at a nightclub singing by the lead booker for PRINCESS CRUISES and CANDI became their youngest guest entertainer. ALL of these jobs occurred before CANDI was 19. She then moved to Los Angeles and was hired by RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL to peform in their Christmas in LA Spectacular as a New Yorker. She did two seasons with them before joining the First National tour of Dreamgirls with Jennifer Holliday, and directed by Michael Bennett. After leaving Dreamgirls, CANDI was cast as a recurring character on GIMME A BREAK, starring Nell Carter. She then auditioned for an NBC/Dick Clark Movie of the Week called REACHING FOR THE STARS. Over 8,000 women auditioned. CANDI was chosen and starred in this, the first reality TV movie. It ended with an appearance in Purple Rain, Prince’s famous nightclub and an appearance on The Tonght Show with Johnny Carson. After this CANDI did less singing in local theater and clubs and concentrated on stand up comedy, Broadway workshops and television appearances. She opened for Joan Rivers locally and Howie Mandel locally. She performed in the workshops for TO SIR WITH LOVE starring Stephanie Mills and for ELEGIES: FOR ANGELS PUNKS AND RAGING QUEENS. She was a recurring character on Perfect Strangers, Knott’s Landing and Empty Nest. Films at this time include Bad Medicine, Rough Day At The Office, Ripperman and others. From there CANDI appeared in over 250 commercials. She was the spokesperson for Mervyn’s department stores and adlibbed a line that would go on to define the store for 8 years. She is the infamous shopper, mouthing, “OPEN, OPEN, OPEN.” CANDI lucked out in 1987 and auditioned for Steven Spielberg’s TINY TOON ADVENTURES and this is where the fun begins. Steven, upon CANDI’S exit from her audition, popped his head out of the studio door and told her that she was born to do this and thanked her for her audition. And, just like when she was three, CANDI was hooked. Iconic characters CANDI created and/or developed include Dexter from DEXTER’s LABORATORY, Cheese, Coco and Madame Foster from FOSTER’S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS, The Flea, Ricochet’s Mom and The Headmistress from MUCHA LUCHA, Mrs. Wakeman from MY LIFE AS A TEENAGE ROBOTS (for which she was nominated twice for an ANNIE AWARD), Snap and Bullnerd from CHALKZONE, Maya from MAYA AND MIGUEL, Dona, Paxil and Shantotto from the FINAL FANTASY FRANCHISE, MOM and The Teacher from COW AND CHICKEN. And countless, truly countless others. There are literally over 2000 hours of cartoons that CANDI has voiced. Today, CANDI is voicing as June Foray’s Granny and Witch Hazel for NEW LOONEY TUNES, Vambre’s Brain for MIGHTY MAGISWORDS, Goat in PIG, GOAT, BANANA, CRICKET, Cleevil and Kid Pickles in PUSS IN BOOTS, Vida Immortata in SPY KIDS, and a myriad of strange and wonderful voices for KULIPARI. She has just finished principal photography on a brand new indie, feature film called WHEN JEFF TRIED TO SAVE THE WORLD, co-starring with Jon Heder and Jim O’Heir. TV appearances include GIRL MEETS WORLD and WILFRED. Her acting in the film, BARK MITZVAH won CANDI Best Actress accolades from the Chelsea Film Festival in 2015. She performs in theater still and is opening as Domina in A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM at the brand new GARRY MARSHALL THEATER (yes! THAT Garry Marshall) in 2 weeks. She is a single mother to a wonderful daughter, Gabi and lives in Los Angeles.
