My name is MIchael Bolhuis. I am a freelance illustrator working and living in the Grand Rapids area. I graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design with academic honors in 2009. My focus was traditional illustration with an emphasis on sequential storytelling.

I am heavily influenced by comic book art, fantasy art, and movies. I love visual storytelling, even if it is from a single still image. My major influences include Frank Frazetta, Simon Bisley, and Sean Gordon Murphy. I like to work in watercolor, acrylic, and oil paints, as well as marker, and pen and ink. I also utilize airbrushing from time to time.
