I am a comic artist and writer, although most days I am an architectural designer in downtown Grand Rapids with a degree in architecture from Iowa State University. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs, reading Spider-man comics and watching animated superhero shows while simultaneously making my own fan comics and original superhero stories. These days, this has transitioned into writing and illustrating comics and original graphic novels, alongside a portfolio of comic fanart and original digital paintings.
I love storytelling across all mediums, especially where the written word and visual expression of art intersect. On the art side of things, I enjoy perspective drawing and using composition & contrast to create visual interest and movement within artwork that inspires. My specialty is in inks, both traditional and digital, as well as digital coloring and rendering. I love seeking new styles and skills to learn while meeting other creatives, lifting each other up to hear the unique vision and stories each creator can tell.
